About education
A diagnosis is not needed for appropriate support and adaptations to be put in place in an educational setting. This support should be based on the young person’s need.
- Communication with SENCO/teacher about the young person’s needs
- Schools can get advice from the SENCO helpline
- The SENSS Communication and Interaction Service are available to mainstream school settings for support and advice for some young people. School needs to request this directly.
