Our practice nurses can be seen by a pre-booked appointment or, in the case of emergency, immediately in the treatment rooms. They carry out procedures requested by the doctor such as blood tests, ear syringing, ECGs and cervical smear tests. They also deal with minor injuries, give advice on holiday immunisations, dress wounds and remove sutures. The nurses run various clinics and are very happy to answer queries over the telephone.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
